We offer a full range of services to area employers, including:

On-Site Workers' Compensation Injury Treatment
At BaptistWorx, we provide comprehensive, quality care to injured workers, in an effort to return them to the workplace. Our work injury clinics offer a low-cost alternative for non-emergency work injury treatment and follow-up care.

The Fern Valley Road clinic is open 24 hours a day, five days a week -- from 7 a.m. Monday through 5 a.m. Saturday. The Bluegrass Industrial Park clinic is open from 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday. The Riverport clinic is open from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday. All clinics are staffed full time by a physician and other healthcare professionals experienced in treating occupational injuries. Facilities and equipment include examination rooms with separate areas for:

• Trauma and eye injuries
• X-ray
• OPTEC Industrial Vision Tester
• Spirometry
• Cardiography
• Intoxilyzer 200D evidentiary breath testing
• RA500 Microprocessor Audiometer

After-hours direct coverage for the Louisville clinics is provided through Baptist Hospital East's Emergency Department.

Urgent Care
The BaptistWorx Riverport location is now seeing employees of its client companies, their family members and friends ages 12 and older without appointment for:

• Colds, coughs, flu and sinus infections
• Asthma
• Sore throat
• Earaches and headaches
• Back pain
• Skin and eye infections
• Urinary tract infections
• STDs
• Fractures, sprains and strains
• Lacerations and wounds
• Minor burns
• Tetanus shots
• TB testing

X-rays are available on site.

This service is available at the Riverport BaptistWorx clinic location, 7092 Distribution Drive. The clinic is open from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (closed on major holidays). Check the insurance plans accepted online or call the clinic at (502) 935-9970.

Injury Care Coordination
Lost work time resulting from an injury can create financial hardships for both employers and employees. At BaptistWorx, our goal is to assist companies in decreasing lost work time. We won't rush an employee back to work before he or she is ready; however, getting a person back to work -- helping them be productive again is the "best medicine" for both employee and employer. Our staff will assist in all areas of work-related injury, including follow-up on your employee/patient as follows:

• Frequent communication with employee/patient
• Frequent communication with employer by telephone and written reports
• Communication with treating physicians, referral sources and claims payers
• Assistance with workers' compensation claims
• Expediting employee's appropriate return to work

Physical Therapy and Work Hardening
Physical therapy is available at all three Louisville locations. Physical therapists specialize in industrial physical therapy and offer treatment for work-related injuries as well as fitness for duty exams to get injured employees back on the job quickly and safely. Substance Abuse Screenings
Our staff can help protect your company against drugs by assisting with the establishment of a substance abuse program. The benefits to your company include fewer missed workdays, less tardiness, employees who are less likely to injure themselves and others, and few workers compensation claims filed. Our services include:

• Non-DOT drug testing
• DOT drug testing
• Evidential breath alcohol testing
• Computerized random drug screen selection
• Medical Review Officer (MRO)
• 24-hour, 7-day-a-week drug and alcohol collections
• Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) evaluations

Physical Evaluation Program
A good, healthy work force starts by fitting the employee to the right job. A physical examination can give the employer the information needed to provide a safe and healthy environment for employees. Our physicians are qualified to perform Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals, as well as many other types of post-offer and job-specific exams. Plus, your company representative can schedule appointments when he or she needs them and receive prompt results. In many cases, results come back to you on the very same day as the examination. Medical Surveillance Program

The medical director and treating physician at our Bluegrass Industrial Park location is William Hoffman, M.D. The medical director and treating physician at our Fern Valley Road location is Michael Newkirk, M.D. The medical director and treating physician at our Riverport location is Robert L. Berlin, M.D. All are highly qualified physicians specializing in the management of workplace injuries and the practice of occupational medicine.
