Occupational health is the science of anticipating, preventing and treating injuries that occur in the workplace. Workplace injuries can take many forms, from accidents requiring immediate medical attention to chronic disorders that slowly diminish productivity and quality of life. The dedicated healthcare professionals at BaptistWorx are specialists in the theory and practice of occupational medicine. We offer:

Work Injury Clinic
At BaptistWorx, we provide comprehensive, quality care to injured workers, in an effort to return them to the workplace. Lost work time resulting from injury can create financial hardships for both employers and employees. That's why BaptistWorx provides 24-hour injury care with prompt follow-up, individual attention and immediate communication.

The Work Injury Clinic is a low-cost alternative for non-emergency work injury treatment and follow-up care, all in one location on the campus of Baptist Hospital Northeast, 1023 Sanibel Way, Suite C, in La Grange. Appointments may be scheduled by calling (502) 222-3302. The clinic is located near the hospital's Emergency Department for treatment of more serious injuries.

BaptistWorx staff will follow up with the injured worker's company and track injuries through the entire workers' compensation process.

The Work Injury Clinic is open from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday. After hours work injuries are treated in Baptist Northeast's Emergency Department.

Medical Surveillance Program
BaptistWorx is committed to helping your company provide a safe and healthy environment for all employees Our BaptistWorx consultants can tailor a program to meet your company's current and future needs. Your program can include:

• Drug screening (DOT and non-DOT)
• Breath alcohol testing
• Audiometric screening
• Pulmonary function testing

Industrial Rehabilitation
Industrial rehabilitation services can be provided through Baptist Northeast's Rehabilitation Services. The goal is to help return injured workers to the work site as quickly as possible and then offer ongoing education regarding injury prevention.

BaptistWorx and Baptist Northeast Rehabilitation Services will work with your company to design the type of industrial program that will meet your needs. Some of the services offered are:

• Back treatment
• Carpal tunnel treatment
• Other musculoskeletal treatment
• General body conditioning
• Job analysis at the work site
• Functional capacity testing
• Ergonomic and consultative work site evaluation

Physical Evaluation Program
A good, healthy work force starts by fitting the employee to the right job. A physical examination can give the employer information needed to provide a safe and healthy work environment for employees. Some types of physicals are:

• Preplacement
• DOT
• Executive

Immunization Program
Healthy employees can begin with a single immunization. Immunizations can be offered to meet regulations or your company's needs and may include:

• Flu shots
• Hepatitis B vaccination
• TB skin test
• Tetanus shots

Education and Wellness Programs
